Accessing Payble
Payble is the platform utilized by your council to assist you in managing and paying different types of fees or levies charged by Council. To access your account, Payble will send a 6-digit verification code to verify your identity — no password needed. You can log in using your mobile number (via SMS) or, if available, your email address provided by your council.
There are three methods to access Payble:
- Scan a QR code — available on notices from your council, such as rates, water, animal renewal, and infringement notices.
- Your council's website — find a "pay something" or similar payments page. Your council will provide a link to Payble there.
- Google search — look up your council's name along with the word "Payble" to directly access your council's Payble page.
How can I sign in?
Mobile number (SMS) A 6-digit code is sent to your mobile via SMS. This option is available for all councils and is the standard sign-in method.
Email address A 6-digit code is sent to your email inbox. This option is only available if your council has enabled it. Contact your council if you are unsure.
How it works
- Choose your sign-in method — Enter your mobile number or email address on the Payble sign-in page.
- Receive your code — A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your mobile or inbox within seconds.
- Enter the code — Type the 6-digit code into Payble to verify your identity.
- Access your account — You're in! View your rates, manage payment plans, and make payments.
Important: always use the same sign-in method
Your account is associated with the sign-in method you chose at the time of registration.
For instance, if you registered using your mobile number, you must consistently use that mobile number for signing in. Your payment history, plans, and account information are all linked to that method.
Payble is unable to combine accounts or alter your sign-in method. This policy is in place to safeguard your payment details and ensure your account's security. If you think you registered with an incorrect method, please reach out to your council for help.
Common questions
I didn't receive my code — what should I do? Check that you entered your mobile number or email address correctly. For SMS, check you have mobile reception. For email, check your junk or spam folder. Wait a minute, then try again. If the issue continues, contact your council.
Can I switch from SMS to email (or vice versa)? No — your sign-in method is set when you first create your account and cannot be changed. Always sign in using the same method you originally used.
My council doesn't offer email sign-in. What do I use? Use your mobile number. SMS sign-in is available for all councils and is the standard method.
I've changed my mobile number. Who do I contact? Contact your council directly. They will be able to update your contact details.
